A website to share stories from local communities With: Mother and Child Welfare organisation, London

WHERE Mother and Child welfare organisation, Shephards Bush RESEARCH field visits, interview MY ROLE gather stories, Visual style and 360° video TOOLS Unity. Website Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender TEAM Riya Patel, Ayza Akhtar Qimin Jiang, Yanbing Jia, Yuou Bai This project started with a goal of exploring the diversity of the WhiteCity neighbourhood in London and to share the local stories within the locality. With the help of the Mother and Child Welfare Organisation, the team could meet and share conduct several beautiful storytelling hangouts with the local Somali community.

Research Methodology

Problem Statement:How might we represent the stories to create an immersive narrative experience for the community?

Literature research: The team researched to ensure that the stories are true or used in the right context. Field visits: We visited MACWO every week for 2 months, where we discusses about the memories and stories from Somalia The Journey The Camel Story: The camel also has its special value and significance in terms of transportation, assets and security risks.

Olfactory Memories: Since ancient times, people have loved to light up spices in mosques, wedding ceremonies, or in the rooms where guests are welcomed. Tajweed: This zine is an exploration of how this Islamic heritage has migrated to the Muslim-minority country of England, and how present it is in the lives of children who have spent a majority of their formative years away from Somalia.

Stone Game: The end would be the most recurring story, creation of a storytelling space. "At dusk, everyone would hang out together. and children would play rock games." Somalis in Shephards Bush: A Web VR space with windows of information about the Somali community Centring the real-life clips of the location.
