Research - Final Project

Updated: Nov 26, 2020

Areas of research

  • Artistic Visualization of scientific processes:

    • Fernan Federici’s microscopic images of plants, bacteria, and crystals are a classic example of finding art in unexpected places. He was using microscopes and a process called fluorescence microscopy to see if he could identify these kinds of patterns on a cellular level. In fluorescence microscopy, scientists shine a particular kind of light at whatever they’re trying to illuminate and then that substance identifies itself by shining a different color or light back. Their work gave a new light on how much beauty the daily processes of nature has. I want to use the natural occurring process in this experience to encourage the audience to imagine the possibilities of immense possibilities of art around us, and hopefully the audience will feel more empathetic towards nature and science. https://twitter.com/dsgoodsell?ref_src=tw src%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr %5Eauthor

    • Beauty of Science (BOS) is a brand that creates science content that has a strong emphasis on artistic presentation. Envisioning Chemistry: An online exhibition that blends chemistry and art, revealing the beauty of chemistry like never before. • Attention economy through Information hierarchy

Attention economy The audience gets to decide their path: this can just be a visit to virtual art gallery , if that works for them, the platform does not defines the experience. If someone is not interested in the technical details they will not be bothered. But if they want to know more, they will be given more information. Just like the theory bul be this on T learning. This will help prevent cognitive overload. And promote learning at personalised pace.

The audience gets to decide their path: this can just be a visit to virtual art gallery , if that works for them, the platform does not defines the experience. It will be refreshing experience when they enter abstract artistic work where they can silently observe around them. In the time of pandemic an experience like this can be helpful for the curious mind that have not been forced into a static life.

There for of of zen meditation where the individual has to keep themselves at the centre of the universe and concentrate in the big and the small. The today's world is fast paced, the youth is always engaging with information all around them, this leads to quick exhaustion and eventually a lack of motivation, It will be refreshing experience when they enter the abstract artistic work where they can silently observe around them. In the time of pandemic an experience like this can be helpful for the curious mind that have not been forced into a static life. The idia of a microscopic view comes from the ancient technique of meditation called .. where the practitioner have to consciously observer the largest space i.e the universe to the smallest atom in their body, this exercise helps people realise the real scale of the bubble they live in.

  • Learning through immersive adventure

    • Many a times on the long hours of skill building precess, we tend to forget what is it that motivated us to persue the topic. We all have are own way to reconnecting with our passion and destressing, and art has played a crucial roles inspiring and motivating the mind that is seeking something.

    • Dance your Phd: The Value: use of visual representation and storytelling to explain a complex topic with ease. It helps communicate the core concept in brief and the audience remembers the dance better.

  • Immersive learning: The ancient style of learning the gurukul system, where the students would live in a campus and be encouraged to learn at their own capabilities and not the same prescribed syllabus for a certain age. The organic development of learning is what is the kind of path that can be seen in this project as well. The Agora school from .. have also used the same pattern of teaching in his talk the founder shares the importance of interest and motivation in the learning path, as a facilitator in the modern world where information is one click away, the knowledge is not only the iq but also the ability to do something about this interest. (the psychology of motivation) Similarly in this project the aim is to use aesthetics and artists' expression to grow the interest in the audience to know more and only then give away further information. I acknowledge the fact that I cannot design pedagogy. This is more of a project to understand science through art and how that can affect the perception of learning.

  • New media exploration Research 3D Visualization in science

  1. Robert A. Lue one of the pioneers of molecular animation, a rapidly growing field that seeks to bring the power of cinema to biology. Building on decades of research and mountains of data, scientists and animators are now recreating in vivid detail the complex inner machinery of living cells.

  1. . Now there are modelling kits available to these without intense coding; like Molecular Maya Modeling Kit Harvard X youtube channel:

  1. . Animaker is an interactive art installation that breaks the border between the virtual and physical world. A large immersive projection shows an ancient jungle temple. In front of it, you are asked to build an animal out of colourful building blocks. Animaker playfully introduces visitors of all ages to current technological developments such as artificial intelligence, 3D-scanning and XR (cross reality). Research Learning through immersive adventure 1. Coming again from the style of schooling the gurukul system, where the students would live in a campus and be encouraged to learn at their own capabilities and not the same prescribed syllabus for certain age.
